World Alliance of International Financial Centers

Launched in October 2018, the World Alliance of International Financial Centers is a non-profit association registered in Brussels, which represents leading international financial centers and facilitates cooperation and the exchange of best practices.

WAIFC members are city governments, associations, and similar institutions developing and promoting their financial centers.

The 11 founding members were Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Busan, Casablanca, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Moscow, Muscat, Nur-Sultan, Paris, and Toronto.

By the end of 2020, 7 new members had joined the Alliance: Doha, Hong Kong, London, Mauritius, Stuttgart, Tokyo, and Kigali.

WAIFC is project-driven. The first projects covered a range of areas, including financial technology, green investment and infrastructure, the creation of a financial center database, funding for small and medium-sized enterprises, and, perhaps the most important, the role of financial centers in financing the economy.

Several studies have been published and can be downloaded on the website

WAIFC brings together more than 20 members in 2022. All of the members are leading international financial centres.
