Pensions: Challenges Ahead

Belgium has agreed on an important pension reform. This conference will look at two key themes that will shape the future of retirement in our country.

Generational fairness
We will discuss how gradual pension reforms affect different generations, and what this means for fair retirement conditions. The session will also explore what the NextGen expects in terms of future pension benefits, especially as people will need to work longer to keep a decent retirement income.

Long-Term Investment Policy
Today, many insurers or pension funds rely mainly on bonds to secure the legally required guaranteed return. We will examine whether this is still the best approach. Speakers will address ideas for long-term investment strategies and asset allocation that aim to increase returns while protecting future benefits.
